What other travelers are saying about Kobe Port Tower
We visited Kobe Port Tower right after spending the afternoon at the Herb Gardens. We arrived just as it was getting dark , at first we thought it would’ve been nicer with more sunlight, but honestly the night view here is even better. The tower lights up with bright colours and it looks stunning against the harbour.
The whole harbour area has a really cool atmosphere at night. The reflections on the water, the breeze, and the lights from all the surrounding buildings make it feel lively but also relaxing. We didn’t go up the tower, but even just walking around the harbour was worth it. There are plenty of places to sit, take pictures, and enjoy the view.
If you’re coming to Kobe, definitely stop by here in the evening. The night vibe is immaculate — simple but beautiful.
I went early on a Sunday morning and there were no lines. I was even the only foreigner there. This turned out to be one of the highlights of my Kansai trip and easily one of the best observation towers I’ve visited.
The view of the mountains behind Kobe and the surrounding sea facing Kobe Port is truly scenic.
I recommend getting the observation deck + rooftop ticket for 1,200 yen, as the rooftop offers an unobstructed panorama.
There’s also a small museum and a café inside. From here, you can easily walk to the Kobe Bay Cruise and Kobe Chinatown.
Highly recommended when you're in Kobe.
It may not be the highest point, but still a beautiful tower which offers great views (at a reasonable ticket price), whether it's from the indoor observation deck, or the outdoor one at the very top. Keep in mind that you are only allowed up to the outdoor observation deck once, with no re-entry from the indoor deck. They have a cool bit of interactive art on one of the floors. There's also a restaurant and bar. There's also a gift shop, which has a decent variety of things (there are two shops). They also have a bear brick with the tower on it, if you're interested in that. I made a last minute decision to visit this tower, and I'd say it did not disappoint.
A great view for a great price.
I would definitely recommend going at night but even in the afternoon looking over the pier and towards the land is incredible.
Make sure not to skip out on the other floors. There was an interactive art floor, a cafe, and a souvenir shop.
The view is breathtaking and there are some areas that is a window looking directly below. If you are afraid of heights please keep your eyes peeled and don't freak out.
I arrived in the afternoon and it was not too busy, I was able to enjoy the sights and attractions without worrying about too many people around me.
Kobe port tower entry is only thousand to twelve hundred yen with one of the most dazzling views i have seen in Japan. It was not at all crowded when I visited. The tower gives a stunning view of the Kobe harbor. I visited during the day time but apparently the night time view is beautiful as well. If you are in Kobe, do visit this.
