What other travelers are saying about Kodera Herb Garden
I think I visited here once, about 20 years ago. There was a coffee shop there at the time, but now it only sells goods.
The cottage-style room isn't very spacious, but it has a lovely scent and just being there is soothing.
They also offered a sample of their herbal tea as a service.
For me it was a little pricey and beyond my budget, but regular customers would fill their baskets with all sorts of items and buy them.
I combined my visit with a visit to the nearby toy museum and visited the place on a drive.
Late spring through early summer (May to July) offers peak blooms, particularly for lavender fields. The garden operates year-round with over 300 herb varieties providing interest across seasons, though outdoor displays are most vibrant during warmer months. Winter visits focus primarily on greenhouse collections.
The on-site shop sells fresh herbs, dried botanicals, herbal teas, essential oils, soaps, and skincare products. Many items are produced from plants grown within the 10-hectare facility. Product availability varies seasonally, with fresh herbs most abundant during growing periods.
Workshops accommodate all skill levels and cover activities including wreath making, aromatherapy, and natural dyeing. Staff provide instruction and materials. Most workshops require advance reservation and incur additional fees beyond the ¥700-1,000 standard admission.
The garden's natural hillside terrain includes sloped paths and stairs between sections. While main pathways are walkable for most visitors, the topography presents challenges for wheelchair users. The greenhouse, shop, and restaurant areas offer flatter access than outdoor garden sections.
Outside food is permitted in designated rest areas. The on-site restaurant serves meals incorporating garden-grown herbs, and a café provides lighter options. The facility includes 200-space parking at no charge for visitors choosing either dining option.
I love the rosemary bread. It's so delicious.
Scones and cinnamon rolls. Homemade is so reassuring.
It's been around for a long time, so I feel at ease and relaxed when I go there. In this age of so many modern things, it's nice to have some things that stay the same.
I recommend the Komachi herbal tea blend.
They also have the Yamanouchi chamomile tea from Yumesaki Town.
I took a short break at a table outside.
They also have a selection of gentle skincare products, so I think it would be good for people with sensitive skin.
I was so excited that I arrived before 10am. It's a very relaxing space.
The representative was in the store and I was happy to be able to talk to him directly about various things.
I was able to purchase what I was looking for, and I was very satisfied because he taught me about the various effects and differences between products that I had been using before but didn't know about.
I visited for the first time in three years🌸🌹

Koji Herb Garden is a small shop, but I highly recommend it! ❣️
There were lots of herb seedlings at the entrance. Inside, there was a wide variety of products, including herbal tea, herbal essence, herbal water, jojoba oil, herbal cream, bread and baked goods with herbs, and the staff explained them to us in detail.
