What other travelers are saying about Kopepe Beach
This beach is so nice. It has clear aquamarine color of the sea and is also good for surfing. There is a trail leading to Kominato Beach, however its a bit rough and steep. We love having picnics here and a barbeque party with my colleagues. The place is so romantic.
This place felt like a private beach and was amazing.
As for the location, it's far from the center of Chichijima, but if you take the bus, get off at Ogiura Beach, and walk while listening to the sounds of the trees and taking in the scenery, I think you'll get there in 40 to 50 minutes.
If you're renting a car, there are toilets in the parking lot, so it's easy to get there.
Because it rained yesterday, the seawater was brown and murky. I wonder how beautiful it would have been if it was as blue as the sky...
This beach is located quite far from the Omura district in Chichijima's central area. Because of its location, it's quiet and unpretentious, making it one of my favorite beaches. The beach itself was free of loose stones, offering the softest sand I'd ever experienced. When I tried walking along the water's edge, my feet sank into the sand, so soft and fluffy, I could see many signs of sea turtles coming ashore. According to the staff at the Marine Center, this is also a turtle nesting spot. I thought, if I were a turtle, I'd want to lay my eggs on this beach. Further in, there seemed to be a path that leads to Kominato Beach. While this is definitely a must-visit beach for anyone visiting Chichijima, you'll need a car, motorcycle, or at least an electric bicycle, as you'll need to navigate a steep hill. There's a parking lot right in front of the beach. I went by electric bicycle, but it used up about 40% of its battery just getting there.
