I secretly love lighthouses, so of course I went to the lighthouse on Kozushima Island.
Lighthouses are a common sight on remote islands and even on the mainland, usually located in scenic spots.
There is a gravel parking lot below the lighthouse. The path to the lighthouse is an uphill, uneven road, so it's recommended to wear comfortable walking shoes.
From the summit where the Kozu Observatory stands, you can enjoy a panoramic view of both the island and the sea.
From the summit, the path continues directly to Senryo Pond.
It's best to avoid visiting during winter or in bad weather due to strong winds.
It took an hour to walk from Kozushima Port. There were tourists along the way up to Julia's Cross Observation Deck, but the lighthouse was further on, and there were ups and downs.
There was an observation deck, and it was quiet and deserted. The lighthouse was also very nice.
There is a parking lot nearby, and it's a 3-minute walk from there. It's on a small hill, so you have to climb a little. There is an observation deck on the lighthouse grounds, and the view is great.
There was nothing particularly special about it.
