Exploring the Wazuka countryside / Matcha plantations was a highlight of our family trip, and Kyoto Wazukaso is a "Hidden Gem" in every sense.
While I initially had my doubts about the reviews, I can now truly confirm that everything from the superb hot tubs to the impeccable service is top-tier.
The culinary experience is the real standout, offering Michelin-level dinner and breakfast that beautifully captures the local flavors.
It is also very easy to reach from Kyoto or Osaka via train and Bus nr. 65, making it a perfect escape for anyone wanting an authentic taste of Japan and its incredible Matcha culture.
Highly recommended!
Genuinely speechless at how amazing our stay here was. If you're in Wazuko for a tea farm tour you have to stay here. The dining experience was great.
The ryokan is absolutely charming. Very high standards, few rooms, away from the hustle of the city. Meals are delicious. Plenty of food to rejoice. Sometimes you even wish you had less espacially at night :) The staff is very welcoming and helpful. Every room has a small private japanese garden. My only wish was that the garden wasn’t surrounded by panels to block the view. This is very common in Japan. They value privacy a LOT. For us Westeners, having a beautiful view from the window is often so much more valuable. In the end I recommend you stay there àd explore the surroundings tea fields.
