Early morning during winter months from November to February provides the clearest visibility. Summer months have significantly more haze and cloud cover. Weather conditions change rapidly, so checking forecasts beforehand is recommended.
The bridge has high safety railings and meets Japanese engineering standards. Transparent grating sections reveal the 70-meter drop to the valley below. Visitors can avoid these by walking on the solid decking in the center of the 1.6-meter-wide walkway. The bridge closes during severe weather.
Small pets must remain in carriers or cages. Dogs are allowed on leashes under close control. Service animals have no restrictions. No pet care services are available on-site.
Multiple restaurants and cafés serve Shizuoka specialties including wasabi dishes, seafood, and green tea desserts. A food court and sit-down restaurant are available. Outside food is permitted in designated rest areas but prohibited on the bridge.
Most visits take one to two hours including the bridge crossing, photos, and exploring gardens and shops. Zipline or climbing activities require an additional hour. Peak season waiting times may add 30 minutes or more. Bridge-only visits take under an hour with light crowds.

📍 Mishima Skywalk 三島スカイウォーク @ Japan 🇯🇵
📅 Visited on 30 May 2026
Visited Mishima Skywalk during our Japan trip and it was a fun and scenic experience for the whole family 🌉🇯🇵
As Japan’s longest pedestrian suspension bridge, the attraction offers beautiful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and, on clear days, even views of Mount Fuji. Walking across the bridge was exciting yet comfortable, with plenty of opportunities to stop and enjoy the scenery along the way.
📸 The views from the bridge are stunning and make for great photos. We found ourselves stopping frequently to admire the landscape and capture memories.
🌳 Besides the suspension bridge, there were quite a few outdoor activities available around the attraction, making it easy to spend more time here. Whether you’re visiting as a family, couple, or group of friends, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the outdoor environment beyond just crossing the bridge.
🐰 One thing we really liked was the petting animal area. Small children can get up close to and interact with the animals, making it a fun experience for young kids. It was definitely one of the family-friendly highlights of our visit.
👨👩👧👦 Family-friendly attraction with wide walkways suitable for children and older visitors. The combination of nature, outdoor activities, petting animals, shops, and food options makes it a well-rounded destination.
⏰ We ended up spending about 3 hours here, which was longer than we initially expected. There was enough to see and do, especially for families with young children.
🌿 The surrounding greenery and fresh air made the visit even more enjoyable, especially as a break from city sightseeing.
💡 Tips:
🗻 Visit on a clear day for the best chance of seeing Mount Fuji
📸 Bring your camera as there are plenty of photo opportunities
⏰ Plan at least 2–3 hours if you want to enjoy the bridge, outdoor activities, and petting animal area comfortably
✨ Overall: A beautiful and family-friendly attraction with impressive views, fresh air, petting animals, and plenty of outdoor activities. More than just a suspension bridge, it’s a great destination to spend a relaxing few hours in nature—we happily spent about 3 hours here
Loved the skywalk and the dinosaur maze. Lots of great views of Fuji. There’s a ton of other activities to do as well and could easily make this an 1/2 day to a full day adventure. The price to see the very small zoo was high but other than that I think the prices were decent. Good place for small children as well as adults. There’s something for everyone.
Mishima Skywalk wow. For me, it was such a great day. The weather was sunny and fresh, and it wasn’t crowded at all. Unfortunately, Mount Fuji wasn’t visible that day, but the atmosphere was still amazing. There are different activities to enjoy my daughters did the zipline while we relaxed and enjoyed a beer. Honestly, we had a really good time. Being surrounded by trees, mountains, and beautiful scenery made the whole experience feel special. Definitely a great experience overall.
Mishima Skywalk is a popular spot and it definitely gets crowded, so expect lots of people around. The area has plenty of cafés and restaurants where you can sit, relax, and enjoy the atmosphere. The view of Mt. Fuji is truly spectacular on a clear day, and there are several activities and rides available, making it possible to spend an entire day here if you want to. Parking is also abundant, so you won’t struggle to find a spot.
However, the Skywalk itself didn’t meet my expectations. I assumed it would have a glass-bottom walkway where you could look straight down, but instead it’s mostly metal, which was a bit disappointing. As for the Mt. Fuji view—while beautiful—you can enjoy similar views from many other locations in the region.
Overall, if Mishima Skywalk is already on your list, it’s worth checking out. But if you decide to skip it, you’re not missing anything essential.
