What other travelers are saying about Miyagi Zao Eboshi Resort
A relatively good sized ski resort with sufficient runs to check out. Snow conditions were not at their peak during my visit so we had to get up and down the mountain via gondola, and couldn't connect to the slopes that led to the base. Stunning views at the top.
The ski season runs from mid-December through late March. January and February offer the most consistent snow conditions and deepest powder. Early December and late March have fewer crowds but less reliable snow quality. The resort operates during summer and autumn for hiking.
Free shuttle buses run from Sendai Station during winter season, taking approximately 60 minutes and requiring advance reservation. By car, take the Tohoku Expressway to Muratagawa Interchange, then Route 457 for a total 50-minute journey. Rental cars are available at Sendai Station and Sendai Airport.
The 9 courses accommodate all levels. Beginners have gentle, wide slopes at the base area. Intermediate skiers can access most terrain. Advanced skiers have steeper runs and off-piste areas in upper sections. The ski school offers lessons for all abilities with some English-speaking instructors.
The resort has bathing facilities on-site. Nearby Togatta Onsen and Aone Onsen towns are 15 to 20 minutes away by car and offer traditional ryokan and public bathhouses. Many accommodations provide combined ski and onsen packages.
The resort has designated beginner areas, a kids' park with gentle slopes, children's equipment rentals, and youth-focused ski school lessons. The 3.3-kilometer gondola ride provides scenic views without requiring skiing ability. Childcare services and family dining options are available at the base lodge.

Took my four year old daughter here and it was well worth the trip. The resort had ample parking (1000 yen). I recommend you come in the morning right as they open because it can get crowded, especially on weekends. There is a kids park for sledding, which is completely free for adults and kids (you only pay for the sled rental). We did not know this and waited in line to end up paying 10,000 yen for lift passes that we didn't use which is why I am telling you now so you don't make our mistake. There is a building with restaurants where you can grab some lunch. Overall I recommend it as a day trip from Sendai (about an hour drive).
great ski field with easy access thanks to proximity to zap shiroishi and sendai
amazing powder snow and not crowded
staff are very helpful and friendly
