Mount Hangetsuyama is a stunning peak offering one of the best panoramic views in the region. This mountain, sitting at 1,737 meters, is famous for its half-moon shape, which gives it the name "Hangetsuyama," meaning "Half-Moon Mountain."

The journey to the top is an adventure in itself. A short drive takes you to a parking area, followed by a hike that’s both accessible and rewarding. As you ascend, the path winds through lush forests, and soon enough, you’re greeted with breathtaking views of Lake Chuzenji and the surrounding mountains. The view from the summit is nothing short of spectacular, with Mount Nantai looming large in the background, reflecting in the crystal-clear waters of the lake below.

Autumn is particularly special on Mount Hangetsuyama, as the foliage transforms into a vibrant display of reds, oranges, and yellows. The contrast between the colorful leaves and the deep blue of Lake Chuzenji is something that draws visitors year after year.

Hangetsuyama! Absolute nice place to snap some good scenic pictures. Unfortunately, the weather was not the best that day. Nevertheless, a place worth driving to. A nice background for many locals to show off their favourite cars 😂.
