What other travelers are saying about Mount Yoshino
Best place to see a mountain full of cherry blossom. Lovely mountain with great scenery. The place is very clean and very well taken care. There are restaurants and cafe in the area with great view. Best to ride the ropeway going up and just walk down later when going home. Bus is another option.
Undoubtedly one of the best places in Japan for sakura viewing. Went there today on 6th April, 2025. All photos were captured on that day.
After arriving at Yoshino station from Osaka Abenobashi, we took the shuttle bus to Nakasenbon (15-20 mints ride) and walked till the Hanayaguru observatory (1.5 Km from Nakasenbon bus point) to have an unobstructed view of the entire Yoshino town all the way till the Kinpunsen ji Temple. However, the cherry blossoms in the Kamisenbon area around the viewpoint were just opening. Walked down the mountain to the rail station thereafter in around 2 hours (4.5 Km) while soaking in all the superb views.
Mesmerizing and breathtaking place. One of the best places in Japan for Sakura (Cherry blossom viewing). Hiking in Mount Yoshino is an amazing experience. It is nice to have food at the viewpoint by watching these beautiful Cherry blossom.

Must visit place during cherry blossom season. Its a 2 hour leisure walk, and you can hike to the top to see senbonzakura. The road is full with small traditional stores, it felt like being transported to Ghibli world. Not much tourist, so you can enjoy the scenery to the fullest. It is recommended to come here after you visit Nara Park
