Such a positive experience for us here in Nokonoshima Island Park. The island is absolutely beautiful and well kept. We would love to go back and see the place in a different season with different flowers. There is also a goat and rabbit feeding place which was fun. There is a restaurant where you can order food. We went here on a weekday so there is not a lot of people which was great because you can take a lot of pictures and there would be no photobombers. A must place to go to when you are in Fukuoka.
The downside of this place is it is a bit far away from the main city. We had to take a bus, then a ferry, then a bus to go to the island. Make sure to load up your IC card for a seamless tap in and out of the bus. For the ferry, they were only accepting cash when we went there. Also keep in mind to check the schedule of the bus and the ferry. Because I think when we were there the ferry on goes to the island one trip per hour. So if we were a minute late, we would have to wait for an hour for the next ferry.
If you’re a nature lover and an anthophile, you’ll definitely appreciate this place! 🌼✨ When we visited in mid-May, most of the flowers in bloom were vibrant marigolds. :)
Entrance fee is ¥1,500, and they provide a map of the whole area, so it’s easy to explore at your own pace.
Getting here is convenient too. From the ferry terminal, just hop on the bus and get off at Nokonoshima Island Park Station.
Aside from the flower park itself, there are also food stalls, a souvenir shop, a coffee shop, and even a beautiful traditional Japanese house.

The place is well-kept with picturesque views of flowers, grass lawns and the sea.
While the views are enjoyable the heat in the middle of summer is unbearable. The management thoughtfully provides umbrellas to visitors who need them.
When we visited yesterday, there were not many varieties of flowers. We were looking forward to sunflowers but the flowerbeds were a bit patchy. Visitors are allowed to pick one sunflower each.
Restaurants and cafes are available. However, there are located quite a distance away from the main entrance.
Luckily we brought our own picnic basket and enjoyed the food under the cool shade of the trees.
Getting to the place was an experience by itself. We took a train to Meinohama Station, a taxi to the ferry terminal, a 10-minute ferry ride followed by a 15-minute bus ride to the park.
This park is located on Nokonoshima Island. To get there, you need to take a ferry across the island (which departs every hour and takes only 10 minutes), then take a bus to the park. Admission is ¥1,800 per adult. The park is beautifully decorated with seasonal flowers; in spring, cherry blossoms are in bloom. Inside, there are restaurants and souvenir shops, a soft-serve ice cream shop, and the park's main restaurant, which serves local specialties like steamed sticky rice with salmon and soda with oranges grown on the island. We highly recommend trying them. It's a wonderful visit.Don't forget to support the elderly lady who sells potatoes tempura at the front of entrance. It's so delicious!
I visited Nokonoshima Island Park in late June. You won’t find as many flowers as in spring, but we still enjoyed our time there. The entrance fee was ¥1,500 per person, which felt a little expensive considering there were fewer flowers.
There were also a few cute animals, such as rabbits and goats, which was really nice to see!
We also walked from the ferry terminal, which took about 45 minutes. We thought it would be a pleasant walk through the forest, but it was actually just along the road 😅
I recommend it to anyone who likes flowers or enjoys wandering around parks!
