What other travelers are saying about Fukuoka Tower
We visited the tower on the last night of our visit to Fukuoka. The moon was out and the sky was lovely. The elevator ride up was met with s brief speech about the tower and there were nice graphics on display in the elevator for those who didn't want to look outside. The back end of the elevator is see-through glass so you can enjoy the view going up.
On the main deck of the tower there were designated spots for selfies and the purchase of momentos. There is food and coffee for purchase as well. The night view is amazing! So for those who enjoy the night scenery I would recommend going to the tower at night. It was January, so around the tower grounds there was a skating rink and lovely holiday decorations as well.
From the observation deck, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Fukuoka City, Hakata Bay, and, on clear days, even distant views of the Genkai Sea and Shikanoshima Island.
Yes, Fukuoka Tower has a café on the second floor where visitors can enjoy light meals, desserts, and drinks while taking in the scenic views.
Fukuoka Tower is equipped with elevators and ramps to ensure accessibility for visitors with disabilities. There are also accessible restrooms available.
Fukuoka Tower is accessible via public transportation. Visitors can take the subway to Nishijin Station or Meinohama Station and then a short bus ride to the tower. It's also possible to walk from these stations, which takes about 20 minutes.
Breathtaking lookout in the northern part of Fukuoka city. Easy to get to from pretty much anywhere in the city, and guide pamphlets in English, Korean, and Chinese so just about any visitor can get around inside with no problem. The fare of ¥800 is super affordable, and there is plenty to see on the observation deck. There are maps outlining several points of interest in the city, and the view is majestic to say the least. Tons of spots to get amazing photos for families and couples. The ride up in the elevator comes with a short narrative in Japanese and English about the history of the tower and a few other factoids throw in for good measure. It’s a great place to see the city and learn about the landscape as
I know it’s a touristy spot but it’s something that you should go to see especially if it’s an nice cloud free day. I’d probably recommend going at night or during sunset because you’ll get the best views. If you go on a weekend I’d probably recommend you buy your tickets early to skip the line. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop and walk across the street to check out the other places.
We went up around 450pm hoping to catch the day light and sunset. A pity it was cloudy and sunset was blocked. It got crowded as time passed. Nice view up there. Ticket not too expensive so worth a visit if you’re in Fukuoka. We had fun taking photos as there were props to use.
Getting down took us a while as we need to queue for the lift.
Getting to the tower from the bus stop was a little tricky. After alighting at the TNC Hoso Kaikan, walk into the building (the one with MacDonald's) but stay on the floor. Walk straight and then turn right and it will slope up to Fukuoka Tower.
Standing at 234 metres tall, Fukuoka Tower is Japan's tallest seaview observation tower where you can enjoy a 360° panoramic view of Fukuoka City and Hakata Bay. As one of Japan's top 100 night views, we admire the sparkling lights and took in the numerous photo spots around the deck.
