What other travelers are saying about Fukuoka Tower
I know it’s a touristy spot but it’s something that you should go to see especially if it’s an nice cloud free day. I’d probably recommend going at night or during sunset because you’ll get the best views. If you go on a weekend I’d probably recommend you buy your tickets early to skip the line. Don’t forget to check out the gift shop and walk across the street to check out the other places.
I went there at the end of july and it was a great experience, even though there was a lot of people there, it didn’t hinder me from getting good photos of the sunset of the sea.
The surrounding beach environment is really picturesque at sunset.
Fukuoka Tower offers stunning panoramic views of the city and coastline. Its sleek, modern design stands out, and the observation deck is perfect for enjoying sunsets and night lights. A quick, worthwhile stop for great city scenery.
Comparing the place, the ticket price is high. Overhyped. I think the space is not enough for too many people. They should limit the number of people so that everyone can enjoy the place. There is no seating option, so it is difficult to stand for long periods of time and enjoy the view. If I had known this beforehand, I would not have gone because I have severe back pain. You can't even sit on the floor.
There are some places to take pictures, but if you ask the staff there, they won't take pictures, you have to ask the person behind the line to take pictures. So it's better if you can go with your own group.
Overall I don't like it.
It was a gloomy evening when we visited Fukuoka Tower around 6 p.m. There was no line at the ticket counter, and the entrance fee was ¥1,000 per person.
We stayed for about 30 minutes because that’s all it really takes to enjoy the panoramic view of the city. Perhaps because it’s a major tourist spot, the admission feels a bit pricey for what it offers.
It’s best to visit the tower later in the evening to see the city lights.
Visited in late September 2025.
From the observation deck, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Fukuoka City, Hakata Bay, and, on clear days, even distant views of the Genkai Sea and Shikanoshima Island.
Yes, Fukuoka Tower has a café on the second floor where visitors can enjoy light meals, desserts, and drinks while taking in the scenic views.
Fukuoka Tower is equipped with elevators and ramps to ensure accessibility for visitors with disabilities. There are also accessible restrooms available.
Fukuoka Tower is accessible via public transportation. Visitors can take the subway to Nishijin Station or Meinohama Station and then a short bus ride to the tower. It's also possible to walk from these stations, which takes about 20 minutes.
