Road Station Sagae Cherry Land is one of the largest and most popular roadside stations in the Tohoku region, offering a fantastic variety of local food and souvenirs. Known as a "cherry paradise," it features a huge selection of Yamagata's famous fruits, especially cherries during the summer season, along with unique local snacks and crafts. The absolute highlight is the handmade gelato shop, which offers dozens of creative flavors like cherry, rice, and even sesame. With its spacious parking, beautiful views of the Sagae River, and a variety of restaurants serving delicious Soba and Cherry Beef, it is the perfect place to take a break and experience the best of Yamagata’s local culture.
I read about this place and the narrative convince me to visit. But I would frankly said you should make a stop if you drive to somewhere else but not a place to go directly. Strawberry is nice.
This was a cool place to stop! Sagae is known for their cherries, and this place does not disappoint. Tons of cherry-flavored items here and items made with pears too! The store has many other souvenirs that are interesting to look at. There is also a restaurant attached if you're hungry.
Good place to relax,and buying foods and goods made in Yamagata Prefecture
There is a roadside station with plenty of souvenirs specializing in cherries. There, you'll find an upright piano that anyone can freely play. The parking lot is also spacious and easy to use.
