Teine Sapporo Highland Ski Center is a great place for beginners. The slopes are great for learning, and the facilities are modern and well-maintained. They offer ski and clothing rentals, making it super convenient for visitors. The staff are helpful, and the overall experience is amazing.
Teine Ski Resort was a decent experience but not the best I’ve had. Comparing it to other places I’ve skied in Japan and Austria, the runs weren’t the most exciting or varied. They were fine, but nothing particularly memorable.
One major downside was the ski rental process—it took an incredibly long time, which was frustrating and cut into our time on the slopes. However, one big plus was the option to ski at night, which added a unique and fun element to the experience.
Overall, a solid ski resort, but there are definitely better options if you’re looking for top-tier runs and a smoother rental process.
The zero is for raising the lift ticket price again. Long lines and terrible conditions. The only reason for coming here was the price and location. Local residents supported the ski resort during COVID, and this is the slap in the face you give them. We don’t earn USD in Japan, so raising the price to “international levels” is not acceptable.
9,400 yen is crazy for a small local hill. There are no new facilities, and you don’t even pay your employees a decent salary. Bad, bad, bad!
I love this mountain! We skied there during the Asian winter games in 2017 for the first time and I love to come back every winter. Yesterday we took the whole team of ski coaches from Hokkaido Ski Club for their ski event. We work hard in Niseko and this mountain is a good change offering some steep powder runs and a beautiful view of Sapporo and the sea of Japan! Always good times!
The ski season at Sapporo Teine runs from December to May. The best time to visit would be from mid-December to January when the slopes are freshly covered in snow and the weather is still relatively mild.
Yes, the minimum age requirement is four years old. However, there are particular areas and activities for younger children, such as the Dinosaur Kids' Park in the Olympia Zone.
While skiing is the main attraction at Sapporo Teine, other winter activities include snowshoeing and sledding. The resort also has a hot spring facility where visitors can relax and warm up after a day on the slopes.
You can bring your skiing equipment, but Sapporo Teine also offers rental options. The rentals include skis, boots, poles, and helmets.
It is possible to visit Sapporo Teine for just the day. However, staying overnight would be recommended if you want to experience night skiing or explore other nearby attractions. Various accommodation options are available in the area, including hotels and traditional Japanese ryokans.
