Senkoji Park in Onomichi, Hiroshima Prefecture, is a beautiful hilltop park with amazing views of the Seto Inland Sea and the town below. Visitors can ride the Senkoji Ropeway up Mt. Senkoji to reach Senkoji Temple, a historic Buddhist temple with a bright red hall. The Senkoji Observatory offers wide views of the Onomichi Channel and nearby islands. The park is especially popular in spring when cherry blossoms cover the area in pink and in autumn when the leaves turn red and orange.

Besides its scenery, Senkoji Park in Onomichi is known for its culture. The Path of Literature has stone markers with writing from famous Japanese authors. The Onomichi City Museum of Art, designed by Tadao Ando, features changing exhibits of modern and contemporary art. With its mix of history, nature, and culture, Senkoji Park is one of the best places to visit in Hiroshima Prefecture.

If you’re ever in Onomichi, definitely check out Senkoji Park. It’s up on a hill, and you can either take a quick cable car or walk up. The views of the sea and town are awesome—especially at sunset. In spring, it’s packed with cherry blossoms, and there’s this cool “Path of Literature” with quotes from famous writers. There’s also a sleek art museum up there designed by Tadao Ando. Super chill spot to relax, take photos, or just enjoy the vibe.

My heart will forever live on here. It's one of the best places to see cherry blossoms during the season. It's hilly, hot, and exposed so make sure to bring water and good walking shoes for your quad workout. And bring cash for the ice cream at the top here. There's also a museum. It's truly so beautiful at this park.
