This is the station where the Oigawa tourist local train starts on its trip up the valley. It’s also where the Thomas the Tank Steam engines live which go up and down the other part of the line. Currently the line is not running due to the recent typhoon, but some of the engines are still at the station. They use a manual train turntable for them, which is the oldest one in Japan and was sent over from Britain in 1897.
The station is well appointed with toilets, vending machine, coin storage lockers, seats and a ticket window. There’s a free carpark there if you need it. Opposite the station is the tourist information centre and above it is a really awesome cafe, Folk Knot Cafe STIR
This station is terminal station of "Oigawarailway main line."
There is very fun place.
Fiom children to adult can have a nice time.
Especially there are many beautifulfemale employees.
My special thanks to the bus driver and the staff at the Senzu Station who helped me when I was lost on September 22, 2025. I got on the wrong bus. The bus driver wrote down the correct timing for the next stops, showed me the timetable. They even checked if I had lunch. The Samata Valley and Sumatakyo Onsen were beautiful areas.
