What other travelers are saying about Shinkyo Bridge
The views are amazing both day and night. But i prefer during day time. Visited the bridge early on November so its the start of autumn season and the view is already breathtaking. Oh and I really like how accessible it is from the station. The public transportation is servin
The best times to visit Shinkyo Bridge are during the spring for cherry blossoms and autumn for the colorful foliage. These seasons offer stunning views and ideal photo opportunities.
Shinkyo Bridge is located near Nikko Station. Visitors can take a bus or walk from the station to the bridge, which is situated close to the Toshogu Shrine and other significant sites in Nikko.
The best angles for photographing Shinkyo Bridge are from the observation platforms located on either side of the bridge. Capturing the bridge with the surrounding natural landscape or reflections in the river can enhance your photos.
The bridge is known for its unique, graceful curve and its distinctive red lacquer. It features a traditional design with ornate details and elegantly curved railings, which contribute to its aesthetic appeal.
Beautiful red bridge with the stunning fall colours as the backdrop and running river foreground made it a popular tourist spot.
Consider visiting it early in the morning or after 3.30pm. Less tourists and cleaner photo.
Crossing the bridge did incur a cost.
We just want to see the bridge itself because it is one of the recommended places here in Nikko. If you want to cross the bridge, there's a fee. We weren't able to try it since we still need to go to Toshogu Shrine. Maybe we will try again next time!!
Such a cute bridge in a truly beautiful area! This entire region was a joy to explore on foot. Every discovered nook and cranny brought a new delight to the senses. Each turn more enjoyable than the last. Perfect place to sit and enjoy a picnic or simply relax and listen to the river tell you stories of the past. Equally breathtaking day or night 🥰
Very pretty but I have to say, I was a bit annoyed there was a fee to cross the actual bridge.
I understand the need to maintain a historical site and maybe I am not understanding the cultural background of the bridge.
However you have a normal bridge to cross next to it and it allows you a very nice view.
Would still recommend.
