Got food poisoning here from one of the restaurants. Ruined my stay in Osaka. Came here to relax and recover from two busy weeks in Japan. The opposite happened. Ended up throwing up all night and being in bed the next two days.
Whichever restaurant we went to, it was obvious they didn't like foreigners. That was my first time experiencing this in Japan as normally everyone was very polite when you are polite to them and use some basic Japanese phrases. Really unfortunate.
Otherwise the spa rooms were fine, even though a lot was closed off due to construction.
A nice hotel to stay in and I enjoyed the bath. The key system can be improved though. There are a key for the shoe box, one for hotel room, wrist band for payment, and a locker room key. It’s such a complicated system. Also, after check out, if you want to store your luggage, you actually can’t leave the building and come back later, unlike the usual hotel practice.
Fantastic experience, will be staying here whenever I'm in Osaka! Touristy stuff nearby is overpriced, but very close to a train station.
I love how the whole hotel is no-shoes. Stayed in the new building, which was quiet and clean. No experience with the old building.
The spa floors are incredible, open late, have plenty of amenities, and are very relaxing. There are a variety of pools ranging from cold to hot, carbonated, oxygen bubbles, indoor/outdoor, etc. and multiple saunas and salt scrub of varying temperatures.
Rooms are very cozy, and the hotel areas are quiet. Breakfast is delicious, lots of good Japanese food.
Staff don't really speak English, but who cares, you're in Japan, it's your job to make an effort to learn the language.
The only drawbacks are that replacing the arm band is needlessly expensive, and for some reason, they won't give you extra blankets, if you want the extra weight.
Otherwise, phenomenal experience! Can't wait to be back.
Spa World Osaka is a visually stunning facility with incredible potential as a tourist destination, but its rules are stuck in the past.
Tattoos are completely banned, with no flexibility or consideration for tourists. This blanket policy assumes all tattoos are gang related, which is an outdated and prejudiced mindset. In 2025, tattoos are a global norm, especially among younger generations and travellers. To deny people access based solely on body art is not only ridiculous, it is discriminatory.
On top of that, there is no option to wear bathers, making the experience even more exclusionary. Many visitors may not feel comfortable being nude, especially in a setting that already makes them feel judged or unwelcome.
It is a beautiful place ruined by narrow and old fashioned policies. If Spa World wants to continue attracting international guests, it needs to update its rules and embrace the diversity of modern tourism.
Wow experience. Clean and hygienic
All amenities, tooth brush, towels, body care. Pressure machine massage chairs, Best bathing experience, the salt sauna was outstanding as were the herbal infused steam and baths. Price very nominal. Out of the world experience.
