Beautiful temple. I was able to get a stamp for my goshuinko book ✨. It’s a solemn and the gardens and statues are so beautiful. I was able to get to this place by following a road behind the Nippori station. Even though the station is not so far away , the ambient is very peaceful. I really enjoyed my time there ❤️

Tennoji Temple is a quiet and atmospheric place in the heart of Yanaka. Less crowded than many other temples in Tokyo, it offers a peaceful space to slow down and reflect. The simple architecture and the large bronze Buddha statue create a calm, grounded feeling. It’s a beautiful stop while wandering through the Yanaka neighborhood, especially if you’re looking for something authentic and serene.

Quite quiet especially on rainy day like this. Temple are not big, so not much to do except praying to the big buddha statue. The building are all close, so you will not be able to sit pray meditate with the main indoor buddha by yourself.

A great temple to visit when in Yanaka area. The temple is near Yanaka Cemetery. The place was well maintained & it looks really nice inside. You will also see a Copper Seating Figure of Buddha inside which was created in year 1690.

Stumbled upon Tennoji Temple while making our way to Yanaka Ginza (went the wrong way). The grounds are beautifully maintained, and we were fortunate enough to see the cherry blossom in bloom.
