What other travelers are saying about Tokyo Joypolis
My son loved this place. He's 7 and around 120cm tall so some of the more exciting rides which require 130cm height were not possible for him. Glad we came here cos that day was rainy and this place is definitely a great way to have fun on a rainy day. Bought my tix on klook and they were having a 1-1 promo so good deal o would say.
We got our tickets bogo, went on a Tuesday right at open. It was a blast!
Their music coaster was part rythm game part ripping launched spinning coaster. I was also a big fan of the House of the Dead experience.
The Half pipe was a ton of fun too! See if you can beat our score.
TLDR: go when lines are short for a great 3 hours of fun
It was around 3:45pm on a Saturday when my husband, our friends, and I visited after playing go-karts nearby.
We had some free time before our BBQ dinner, so we decided to stop by and explore a bit.
We purchased the entry tickets for ¥1,500 each, as we didn’t plan to spend the whole day here.
We then decided to try the ISSEN laser shooting game.
However, we were not informed that this particular game required an additional top-up at another counter, which cost ¥900 per person.
So, for anyone planning to come for a short visit, be aware that the entry fee does not include access to all attractions.
We waited around 40 minutes for our turn. The instructions and process were clear and well organized.
When it was finally our turn, a group of 12 people was brought in at a time.
After a short storyline and introduction, we put on the vests and were given laser guns.
We went through a short practice round and then entered the main game room.
The setup looked promising, but the actual gameplay was extremely brief, barely one minute.
Most of us were still hiding or aiming when suddenly everyone “got shot” at the same time without warning, and the guns just stopped working.
The game ended abruptly, leaving us confused and disappointed.
It felt like we spent more time walking through rooms and listening to the storyline than actually playing.
Considering the entry fee and the extra charge for this attraction, we felt it was not worth the price.
It was unfortunately a disappointing experience, and we wouldn’t recommend it.
The ticket is 1500 but it does not include any attraction or game. Inside you have to pay for everything, from 700 to over 1000. They don’t explain that before entering.
Then the games are ok, but you can find better ones in other places
Good activity for on a rainy day or when it's just too hot outside.
Most of the rides are story based and in Japanese but nevertheless very fun.
There's a lot of one-room rides where you look at a curved screen and the car moves around on the place. Be careful here if you easily get motion sickness.
There's also a lot of prize games in this building.
You have a lot of options on what kind of admission ticket you want. One option is to pay a fee of about 1500¥ just to get inside and then you pay for each ride seperate (between 700-900¥), if you come early on the day and want a full admission you pack ~5800¥ and if you enter Joypolis only after 3pm it's 4800¥.
Overall we had a great time there and my head is still spinning! ;D
