It was packed of people due to spring break. But if you are fan of SEGA:Sonic, (like my son) you will definitely liked it!
The weather today is not that great, so this amusement park is a covered centre. Great especially if it’s raining!
I booked from Klook (for adult buy 1 take 1), so I just bought seperate for my son. So easy, just go over to the counter to get exchange a proper ticket.
Went inside to the 2nd floor you’ll see sonic statue!
If you came at noon, most ride waiting is 30 to 60 minutes. So many games kind a Timezone in Australia.
Food wise, nothing fancy. Just not to get hungry :-)
For me, this is only Good for one visit!
If you’re a parent, I wouldn’t recommend bringing your kid here.
It doesn’t really give the vibe of a proper theme park, it’s really just a big arcade with some roller coasters mixed in. Most of the rides are pretty extreme and aren’t suitable for children. The rides that are suitable for kids are mid and not something that you want to go on again. It also took a really long time of waiting to get on any rides, even if they said their wait time was only 5 or 10 minutes
There are a lot of claw machines, but then again you can find these in any arcade and there’s no point in coming to a “theme park” just to try and grab a stuffed animal.
My experience was pretty average/boring and I wouldn’t come here again.
As a parent wanting to bring lots of joy and fun to my 8-year-old child, I have to admit that the place left me a bit disappointed. The number and quality of available attractions definitely don't match the high ticket price. There was surprisingly little Sonic in what's supposed to be a Sonic-themed center—and that was the main reason we chose this place.
Sure, the interactive attractions did make my child happy, but overall, I still feel it's not quite worth the cost.
Cons:
Most of the attractions are only in Japanese, which can make it hard to fully understand the storyline—especially in simulators or story-based games.
During peak hours, wait times for certain attractions can be long, which affects the overall experience.
Even with an all-access pass, not everything was actually included—Sonic Carnival, for example, required buying extra (and quite pricey) coins.
I recommend checking the attraction height requirements in advance—everything is clearly explained on the official website.
To sum up: in our opinion, it’s fun for a maximum of 4 hours, assuming you manage to avoid long lines. Although our child did enjoy it for a while, they got bored relatively quickly, as there weren’t as many attractions as it might seem at first glance.

Good fun for adults and kids/teens. Went with my 11yo boy and 13yo girl - great bonding session. Didn't get a chance to 'gamble' with the claw machines because i ran out of cash and my Wechat pay wasn't set up.
Be prepared to spend at least 4hrs there - 5-6hrs will be perfect.
Joypolis is an indoor amusement park with a wide variety of rides and attractions. If you’re a fan of Sega, you’ll love what they have in stall. From Sadako (The Ring) themed attractions to Sonic and Groove Coaster themed rides and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney side attractions, Joypolis contains a plethora of rides and attractions.
Joypolis does not have as many thrilling rides apart from their Geki-On Live coaster and Half-Pipe however their other rides and attractions are still fun and some were even quite scary (The Sadako one especially).
You can expect to spend about 3-6 hours here depending on the queues. If you’re entering during opening time, I highly recommend everyone to queue for the high-demand rides first such as the Geki-On Live coaster and Half-Pipe as the queue times can get as long as to 80 minutes during peak hours.
In terms of food, there is a food cafe available as well as vending machines that dispenses ice-cream and bottled/canned drinks. Joypolis also has a souvenir shop that you can buy gifts and mementos from although the prices can be a bit pricey.
It is highly recommended to get the Joypolis passport ticket. The passport ticket includes every single ride and attraction in the amusement park and is excellent value for money. Alternatively, if you only have one or two rides that you want to ride, the admission ticket is about ¥1200 for adults and the rides range from ¥700-¥1000 per ride.
Tickets can be bought in advance on platforms like Klook or on the day itself at the ticketing booth. It is recommended to buy the tickets in advance as the queues for the ticketing booth can be long during peak hours.
Overall, I’ve been to Joypolis twice and had a great time on both occasions. I can certainly recommend it for people looking for a fun-filled and great time at Odaiba.
