Tove Jansson Akebono Children’s Forest Park is one of the most charming hidden gems in Saitama 🌿🏡 Inspired by the world of the Finnish “Moomin” stories, the park feels like stepping into a whimsical fairytale filled with unique architecture, cozy little houses, and peaceful forest scenery.
Every corner of the park has cute details and playful designs that make exploring really enjoyable for both kids and adults. The atmosphere is especially beautiful during autumn when the trees turn warm shades of orange and yellow, creating a magical storybook-like view 🍂
The park is spacious, relaxing, and perfect for a quiet day trip away from Tokyo. There are walking paths, small bridges, lakeside views, and indoor areas where you can admire the creative interiors inspired by fantasy worlds. Best of all, entrance is completely free.
Access is also quite easy from Motokaji Station, making it a great spot for families, couples, or anyone looking for a peaceful nature escape near Tokyo ✨
Very beautiful and well made park. Remind me of Yufuin but without bunch of shops. Very chill for family. Many groups of local school kids come for a tour. Lovely. Has 1 coffee shop.
Not a fan of Moomin hence I ain't gonna cough up for the entrance in its Valley Park; this one is quite enough. Whimsical and free, it's a fun getaway for kids and nature lovers!
It’s an incredibly beautiful park, particularly in autumn when the trees turn brilliant shades of red, orange, and gold, creating a stunning and peaceful atmosphere.
The park give the fairytale vibe, it is really good for spending time with kids or family. There is mushroom house and small library. Picnic area are available, but not so big.
There’s also a coffee shop and ice cream stand inside the park. The entrance fee is free with a huge parking lot.
It’s close on Monday.
