I had a great time here! The rides were super fun, especially the roller coasters. The food was really tasty and there were lots of options. It was also so cool to see the characters walking around. They smiled, waved, and took pictures with us. Everything looked so clean and nice. It felt like a dream come true. Perfect place for kids and adults too. I would love to come back again one day!
Do you even need to look at reviews?
This is my first time visiting a universal and I am super happy that it is! I can't say how this is compared to the others but I had a blast here. The park was pretty big in my opinion, but I'm sure the other ones are bigger due to sheer amount of available land in America vs Japan for example.
I would recommend the fast pass of you're coming here because some rides can have waits up to 3 hours!!! I don't think the wait times reflect the value of the ride but some of them are NOT worth the wait.
Super clean as per all of Japan and staff was super nice. Most people spoke English quite proficiently as expected. Plenty of spaces to sit and rest.
It was a great place to visit. It's not a huge park so there's a really good chance you can do the whole park in a single day. The food is good and the rides are great. I flew the flying dinosaur and it was intense. Hollywood dream backwards was also amazing. The food was also pretty good for theme park food. The lines weren't long but you will need to get online reservations for Nintendo world. It's a cool place with many things to buy but it's worth the experience
We had such a great time at Universal Studios Japan with the kids! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind, smiling, and helpful, which made the experience even better. We used regular entry tickets without paying for any express passes and still managed to do everything we wanted. The Minions ride was fantastic and super fun, and the Harry Potter castle was simply breathtaking—especially since we used the single rider line and didn’t wait at all. Nintendo area was a bit crowded... but beautiful. Prices for food and merchandise inside the park were on the higher side, but overall it was totally worth it. A fun, smooth, and memorable day!
Universal Studios Japan absolutely lived up to the hype—and then some. As visiting Westerners, I can say without a doubt that it was 100% worth the extra effort for my wife to create a Japanese-language account and secure Premium Express Passes ahead of time. Unlike the timed express options, the Premium Passes let you ride the included attractions whenever you want, which gave us the flexibility we needed to actually enjoy the day.
Even with those passes, we were hustling to fit everything into a single day. Without them? You're looking at average wait times of 60 minutes per ride, with the most popular ones like Mario Kart or Harry Potter reaching 180+ minutes. Hard pass on that.
We followed a pretty straightforward strategy—Super Nintendo World first, then Harry Potter, then Jurassic Park, and worked counterclockwise from there, hopping on rides like Jaws as we passed by. We still ended up walking 10 miles, so I can’t even imagine trying to crisscross the park for scheduled ride windows.
The rides themselves were top notch—fun, well-themed, and polished. The staff were universally friendly and helpful, and the whole park was spotless and well-signed. Honestly, it was so immersive that we often forgot we were in Japan at all. Five stars, no question. Just do yourself a favor and get the passes.
