What other travelers are saying about Unryu-ji Temple
This is a spectacular area that was our start for several temples and shrines. On a weekend in November we saw under 30 people at all of the spots combined over several hours. The autumn colors were amazing and we enjoyed thes spots more than those in Kyoto. Definitely a different experience as those spots are huge and ornate, but I feel this is a better experience and it is not that difficult to get to. Once you get to start don’t rely that heavily on google map directions as they take the less scenic path. Just go from building to building. Google would take you all the way around to get to the shrine that is shown in last pic and is just up the stairs.
