Unzen Vidro Art Museum, Nagasaki

The Unzen Vidro Art Museum opened in 1997 in the mountain resort town of Unzen, Nagasaki Prefecture, showcasing an extensive collection of Japanese and international glass art. Located in the Unzen-Amakusa National Park, the museum takes advantage of its scenic mountain setting at approximately 700 meters elevation, offering visitors views of the surrounding volcanic landscape that has made Unzen famous since the Meiji era when it became one of Japan's first international resort destinations.

The museum houses over 1,000 pieces of glass artwork spanning from ancient Roman glass to contemporary Japanese creations.
