The park takes its name from Utsubuki Spring, a natural water source that has sustained the local community for centuries and remains the defining feature of this compact urban green space.

The spring at Utsubuki Park has been documented in historical records dating back several hundred years, serving as a vital water source for the castle town of Kurayoshi during the Edo period. The crystal-clear water emerges at a constant temperature throughout the year, creating a small pond surrounded by carefully maintained gardens. Visitors to Utsubuki Park can explore the tranquil grounds that combine Japanese garden aesthetics with the area's characteristic red brick warehouses, which have been preserved from the Meiji and Taisho eras. The park is located approximately 15 minutes on foot from Kurayoshi Station on the JR San-in Main Line. Alternatively, visitors can take a local bus bound for the Shirakabe Dozogun area and alight at stops near the historic district, from which the park is a short walk. Limited parking is available in nearby municipal lots for those arriving by car. Admission to Utsubuki Park is free, making it an accessible stop while exploring Kurayoshi's historic quarter.
