What other travelers are saying about A Happy Pancake
A Happy Pancake lives up to its name when it comes to taste, but be prepared for a lot of waiting. They don’t take reservations, so arriving early is key if you want to avoid long lines. You’ll need to check in via QR code on the ground floor, wait for your table to be ready, take a tiny and very slow elevator up to the 7th floor, and then wait again (up to 30 minutes) for the pancakes to arrive.
There’s a wide variety of pancake options on the menu. We ordered the Rich Cheese Mousse Pancake with Berry Sauce and A Happy Pancake. The pancakes were incredibly light, fluffy, and delicious but more like a dessert than a traditional breakfast.
Overall, it’s a fun experience and the pancakes are excellent, but patience is definitely required.
A Happy Pancake is famous for its incredibly fluffy, souffle-style pancakes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pancakes are soft, airy, and served with a variety of toppings such as honey butter, fresh cream, and seasonal fruits.
Reservations are not required but are highly recommended, especially on weekends or during peak meal times, as the cafe is very popular and wait times can be long.
The menu includes a range of sweet and savory pancake options. Popular choices include the classic pancake with honey butter and whipped cream, chocolate banana pancakes, and savory pancakes like the avocado and salmon option.
The price for pancakes ranges from around ¥1,100 to ¥2,000, depending on the toppings and type of pancake. Drinks are typically priced between ¥400 and ¥600.
The fluffy pancakes are delicious and the presentation is usually like what is pictured. Be aware that if you order the meal, those pancakes are NOT the same as the fluffy (they are wheat and not fluffy). The place is small, and there is ALWAYS a wait time unless you are 1st in line...which more than likely required you to arrive prior to opening (to wait, until they opened, LoL).
Btw: I visited A Happy Pancake location in both Osaka and Tokyo, so the video and a couple of pics (the wheat pancakes w/ eggs and bacon) are from Osaka location, the pancakes w/ bananas and chocolate drizzle are from Tokyo-Ginza location. But the experience is quite the same at both locations.
While we hate the system of making a QR booking on arrival & waiting around (40 mins for us) & another 30 mins for the soufflé pancakes to arrive - was it worth it? absolutely yes!
Amazing fluffy pancakes inc a seasonal chestnut caramel macchiato.
So light & tasty, so glad I didn’t have to share!
Be prepared to wait before you actually get seated. The restaurant itself isn't very big and it takes a while before your order arrives that's why they make you queue before being seated.
The restaurant is located on the 7th floor and you are required to scan a QR code on the ground floor to get in line.
The pancakes itself were very light and fluffy. Honey tasted like actual proper honey and the whipped cream served alongside was also lightly sweetened.
Only 3 stars for the pancakes (even though they wobbled alot) was because the taste itself was slightly too eggy for me.
Located in heart of ginza this famous pancake spot doesn't disappoint on the hype. With vast menu of pancakes there is something for everyone, the serving size is quite large and flavours are epic.
Make sure you book early else there can be an average wait time of 2 hours, they do not take phone booking, there is a QR code at ground floor which registers you on the wait list and a notification is sent when your table is ready.
If you like pancake which are lighter than air, and fluffy like a cloud do visit this.
