Ueno, Yanaka & Sendagi Old Town Guided Walking Tour

Visit Nezu Shrine in Tokyo’s Bunkyo ward, one of the city’s oldest Shinto shrines. Surrounded by greenery, the grounds feature carp ponds, peaceful walking paths, and a tunnel of red torii gates. The Yuyake-dandan Steps connect Nippori Station to the eastern entrance of Yanaka Ginza. The staircase has 36 steps and descends approximately 4.4 meters. Nicknamed the “Sunset Steps” after a 1990 local naming contest, it offers a clear view over Yanaka Ginza and is a well-known photo spot, especially at sunset.

Yanaka Ginza is a traditional shopping street in Tokyo’s Yanaka district, known for its many temples and historic atmosphere. While it shares the name “Ginza” with Tokyo’s upscale shopping area, the two are very different. Yanaka Ginza features small local shops and retains the character of a classic downtown neighborhood.

Lastly, visit Ueno Park in Taito Ward, one of Tokyo’s most vibrant public spaces, famous for cherry blossoms in spring and colorful foliage in autumn. The park is home to museums, temples, a zoo, and occasional street performances, and is conveniently located near Ueno Station.
