What sake is served at the tasting?

The sake tasting takes place at Yoshinoya Sake Brewery near Zenkoji. Your guide will introduce the flavor profiles and brewing characteristics of Nagano sake during the session. Guests must be 20 years of age or older to consume alcohol. A non-alcoholic alternative is available.

What is the Snow Monkey Park trail like?

The trail is 1.6 kilometers one way on an unsealed forest path and takes approximately 25 to 30 minutes each way. From mid-December to early April, the trail may be covered in snow and ice. Sturdy footwear is essential. Rental boots and crampons are available near the trailhead for an additional fee.

Are the monkeys guaranteed to be in the hot spring?

In winter, the monkeys are commonly seen bathing in the hot spring. In spring, summer, and autumn, they may be present near or in the water, but this cannot be guaranteed. On a small number of days per year, the monkeys may not come down to the park area at all.

What should I wear for this tour?

Sturdy walking or hiking shoes are essential for the forest trail. In winter, warm and waterproof layered clothing is required as temperatures can drop to minus 10 degrees Celsius. From mid-December to early April, rental boots and crampons are available near the park for an additional fee.

What happens if part of the itinerary is unavailable on the day?

If any part of the itinerary cannot proceed as scheduled due to weather, closures, or other conditions, the tour operator will arrange a suitable alternative and inform guests as early as possible.

This tour is not wheelchair accessible and may not be suitable for guests with mobility limitations.
Infants (0–5) receive free admission; no lunch or guaranteed seat (may sit on an adult’s lap in winter).
Hakuba transfers run from December to March only; guests arrange transport from drop-off points to accommodations. Note that only Nagano Station and Hotel Kokusai 21 pickup are offered all year round.
Booking must be completed at least 1 hour before the pickup time on the day of the tour.
Onward Shinkansen travel in winter should not be booked before the 17:56 Kagayaki or the recommended 18:23 Hakutaka service from Nagano.

Great tour company

Kai was such a great guide and happy to re-organise the sights to ensure we had the most likely chance of seeing the snow monkeys. Tour was fantastic - great pace and exceptional lunch. Kai was very helpful to help us with our train tickets etc to next place. Highly recommended company.

The tour was Amazing! Jens Is a very great guide he told us a lot of informations about everything we saw and of course Is a great guy, funny and gentle. The tour itself very well designed, from the spiritual part in the Temple, the restaurant wich was very good and elegant and the Monkey park that was an incredible experience. Absolutely reccomandeted!!
