Is the climb inside Matsumoto Castle difficult?

The castle interior includes steep and narrow wooden staircases, which can be challenging for some guests. Climbing is optional, and those who prefer not to go inside can remain outside and enjoy the castle grounds at their own pace.

How much walking is involved in Kamikochi?

Guests will take part in a guided walk of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes along a mostly flat trail, followed by additional free time of around 1 hour and 30 minutes. The paths are well-maintained and suitable for most visitors with a basic level of fitness.

Great family day out

What a great tour! Went with my 10 and 12 year old and we had an amazing time. Our tour guide Hiroshi was very knowledgeable, friendly and happy to answer all of our questions. The timing of the tour was perfect. At no time did we feel as though we were rushed. At both Matsumoto and Kamikochi we were given a good amount of free time to explore the areas. I would definitely recommend this tour to families wanting to get out and explore while learning about the histories of the 2 areas.

Remarkable day out at Matsumoto and Kamikochi

I had a great tour with Kieron. Snow Monkey Resort still pushed through with the tour even if I was the only customer on the group tour. I had the privilege of getting a private tour with a very knowledgeable guide. Keiron is an Aussie who lived in Japan for almost 30 years now so we were able to easily exchange stories. We were able to efficiently visit Matsumoto castle plus the town and completed the whole loop of Kamikochi. If you want to learn about Japan and more, do request for Keiron. Highly recommended!

Great family day out
