No. There is no fixed route. Your host tailors the stops to your tastes and what is best on the day, mixing local izakayas and yatai-style stalls.

What might I eat and drink?

A sample evening includes oden and seasonal sashimi, yakitori or miso-glazed eggplant, and kushikatsu or karaage, paired with drinks such as draft beer, shochu, sake, a whisky highball, yuzu sour, or plum wine.

Can I request specific dishes or places?

Yes. Note any dishes you want to try or areas you would like to explore in the questionnaire, and your host uses your input to shape the route.

What if a restaurant is unexpectedly closed?

Hosts usually check opening times in advance, and if a place is closed they have backup options ready and adjust the plan on the spot.

Eat like a local with Marc Paris

Marc Paris was awesome! He was knowledgeable, fun, helpful and helped us plan the rest of our trip to Tokyo. my wife is Celiac (no gluten) which is challenging in Japan. Marc found spots for us to try and showed us where the locals would eat. He recommended spots for our teenagers to shop for manga/anime collectibles, and helped us organize the places we wanted to go into efficient day trips. Can't recommend him highly enough.
