A small tea ceremony experience is a traditional Japanese ritual where matcha (powdered green tea) is prepared and served in a ceremonial manner. This experience will be included during lunch at a local restaurant.
We recommend dressing comfortably for the walking portion of the tour. However, please dress respectfully when visiting temples and shrines - avoid revealing clothing and hats.
The meeting point is easily accessible by train from Kyoto Station. Take the JR Sagano/San-in Line to Saga-Arashiyama Station (approximately 15 minutes). From there, it is a short walk to the North Exit. Detailed directions and a map will be provided upon booking.

Our guide Ayuri was fabulous. Her knowledge was exceptional and she came prepared with visual aids to help in our understanding of the specific highlights in/around our tour circuit. The temple experiences were very informative including the Buddhist lunch at the conclusion of the tour. We had a small group of 4 which allowed us to engage with each other adding to the overall experience. It really exceeded our expectations. The Bamboo forest and the surrounding gardens were spectacular!

A great way to spend 5 hours. A mix of scenery, history and culture. The Japanese meal was one of highlights. Something I would not have tried on my own.

Our guide Ayuri was fabulous. Her knowledge was exceptional and she came prepared with visual aids to help in our understanding of the specific highlights in/around our tour circuit.
