Is landing on Gunkanjima guaranteed?

No. Nagasaki City only allows landing when waves measured at Iojima are below 0.5 meters, and wave height cannot be known in advance. The cruise company may adjust the timing, such as landing first and touring later, to improve the chance of landing.

When do I visit the Gunkanjima Digital Museum?

The museum visit comes before the cruise. You check in at the museum and spend about an hour with its exhibits before boarding begins.

Can I walk around freely on the island?

No. Visitors view the abandoned buildings and industrial ruins from designated viewing areas only.

Battleship island with Skyfall flashback

This tour of less than 3 hours will take you to an island in the shape of a warship. Wonderful to see. Abandoned since 1974. Until then, coal was mined. Now a ghost island which also served as the location for James Bond's film Skyfall. If you are in Nagasaki definitely recommended

Great daytrip for sea bears

The sea felt a bit rough, but anyway we were able to land on the island! It was certainly a great daytrip and I would recommend it to anybody interested in combining a boat trip with the eerie island!
