Meet your guide at Hiroshima Station under the Tourist Information sign outside the Shinkansen gates. Look for the guide holding a Snow Monkey Resorts tour sign. Please arrive early, as the station is large and currently under construction.

3 Chome-8 Honmachi, Takehara, Hiroshima
Duration: 1 hour and 35 minutes
Arrive in Takehara and begin a guided walk through Honmachi Street in the Townscape Conservation Area. The district contains buildings dating back to the Edo period, preserved as part of a nationally recognized conservation zone. Your guide will stop at historical landmarks throughout the walk and provide context on the town's history as a sake and salt production hub. The visit includes a stop at the Okakae Jizo statue, housed in a small hut near the main street.

Tadanoumichō, Takehara, Hiroshima
Duration: 3 hours and 45 minutes
Arrive on Okunoshima and begin a guided walk along the coast, stopping at ruins from the island's history as a chemical weapons production facility during Japan's military conflicts. Sites visited include the Power Station Ruins and the Nagaura Poison Gas Storehouse Ruins.

The guide accompanies the group on the ferry back to the mainland and the train to Hiroshima Station, where the tour concludes in front of the Shinkansen gates. As return times may vary due to ferry and public transport schedules, please avoid booking onward travel before 18:15.
Frequently Asked Questions
During free time on Ōkunoshima, you can visit the hot springs at Kyukamura Ōkunoshima, rent a bicycle to explore the island, hike to the observation deck, visit the lighthouse, or dine at the hotel restaurant. These activities are optional and not included in the tour price.
Lunch is not included. Free time for lunch is provided on Ōkunoshima from approximately 13:00. The hotel restaurant on the island is one available option, and guests may also bring their own food.
Comfortable walking shoes are recommended throughout the day. In summer, lightweight clothing, sunscreen, and water are advised. In winter, warm and layered clothing is recommended as temperatures can be cool near the sea.
If any part of the itinerary cannot proceed as scheduled, the tour operator will arrange a suitable alternative and inform guests as early as possible.
This tour is not wheelchair accessible, as some locations include stairs and uneven stone paths. However, there is minimal climbing overall, so it may be suitable for guests with limited mobility. If you have concerns, please contact us before booking to discuss your needs.

Awesome experience!
Isabella was an awesome tour guide! Learnt so much interesting history about Rabbit Island and Takehara. She had such great energy and took us on a hike to the top of the island. Would definitely recommend the experience, my partner and I had a blast. The rabbits were so cute!

The compicated behind the island. The island has many beautiful beaches to enjoy, and there are campgrounds. But no matter where you go, the rabbits are a constant factor, adding a healthy serving of cuteness to almost anything you can do on the island;very popular tourist spot, it does have a tragic past.
