The taiko is a traditional Japanese drum played with wooden sticks called bachi. It has been used in festivals, rituals, and performances for centuries. In this experience, you will learn how to play taiko in a group, following rhythms and beats guided by an instructor.
No prior musical experience is needed! This experience is designed for beginners and all skill levels. The instructor will teach you step by step, making it easy to follow along and enjoy the drumming.
The meeting point is at the Central Ticket Gate of JR Kyoto Station (Not the Shinkansen Central Ticket Gate). It is located on the north side of the station, where you can see the Kyoto Tower. Please arrive 10 minutes early, as late arrivals cannot join the tour.
Yes, you can take photos and short videos to capture your experience. However, please be respectful and follow the instructor’s guidance regarding filming, especially during the lesson.
Unfortunately, late arrivals cannot join the tour, and no refunds will be given. Due to train schedules, we cannot wait for latecomers. Please plan to arrive early at Kyoto Station and locate the meeting point in advance.

Energizing ! Inspiring ! Impressive
My first time in Kyoto visiting my Japanese friend . We loved this show ! The drummers and flutist were so amazingly talented ! They were professional and gave 100% of themselves during the show ! We felt so energized afterwards and took us awhile to calm down because you can feel the beat of the drums in your whole body . Really fun
