Meet up. After meeting your guide, board a ferry to Naoshima Island, reaching Miyaura Port by approximately 11:20 AM, ready to start your exploration.
Begin with a visit to the island’s iconic Red Pumpkin and Naoshima Pavilion, exploring these artworks on foot for about 30 minutes.
Rent a power-assisted bicycle at Ougiya for easy island exploration. If you cannot ride a bicycle, you can use the local bus instead. Lunch is not included, so you’ll have time to enjoy a meal of your choice.
Spend the afternoon visiting highlights like the Art House Project, including sites such as Haisha, Kadoya, Ishibashi, and more. Admission to the Ando Museum is also included. These sites close at 4:30 PM, so you’ll wrap up your visits by then.
Around 5:00 PM, check in to your chosen accommodation. You can select either Wright Style, a modern hotel, or TSUMUYA, a traditional Japanese house in a quiet fishing village.
After breakfast, meet your guide at the hotel lobby at 9:30 AM. Start with a visit to the Benesse House Museum, spending an hour exploring its exhibits. Continue to the Valley Gallery, where you’ll see works like Yayoi Kusama’s Narcissus Garden and Tsuyoshi Ozawa’s Slag Buddha 88.
Enjoy a peaceful walk through the Benesse Outdoor Art Area, taking in its stunning sculptures and installations.
Visit the Lee Ufan Museum in the early afternoon. Optional visits to the Chichu Art Museum or Hiroshi Sugimoto Gallery can also be arranged if tickets are pre-booked.
Return your bicycle to Ougiya by 4:00 PM. Before leaving the island, take a quick look at the Naoshima Bath “I♥︎湯” from the outside.
