Your guide will meet you at your hotel in Tokyo. Together, you’ll take the subway to Shinagawa or Tokyo Station to catch the Shinkansen (bullet train) toward Odawara, the gateway to Hakone.

From Odawara, you’ll continue by local train to Hakone-Yumoto before heading to the famous Hakone Shrine. Nestled among towering cedar trees, this historic shrine is known for its striking red torii gate that rises from the waters of Lake Ashi — a breathtaking photo spot.

After visiting the shrine, stroll along one of the last preserved stretches of the 17th-century Tokaido Road. This cedar-lined path once connected travelers across Japan and offers a quiet, atmospheric walk filled with history.

Board a pirate ship-style cruise from Hakonemachi-ko port and sail across the crater lake. On clear days, Mt. Fuji can be seen in the distance, creating a postcard-perfect view. Along the way, you’ll also hear local legends and stories about the lake’s past.

Take the Hakone Ropeway up to Owakudani, a volcanic valley with steaming vents and sulfur fields. Here, try the famous black eggs boiled in the hot springs — a quirky treat said to add seven years to your life.

Wander through a unique outdoor art museum surrounded by mountain views. The sculptures and exhibits blend beautifully with the natural setting, making it enjoyable even for those who don’t usually visit art galleries.

Option 2: Traditional Onsen Bath

Before heading back, stop at Hakone Yumoto. Browse its charming shops for souvenirs or simply soak in the atmosphere of this cozy hot spring town.

From Hakone Yumoto, you’ll travel back to Odawara Station and board the bullet train to Tokyo. The tour ends at Shinagawa or Tokyo Station. Your guide can assist if you’d like to continue to your hotel.
