Join us on a mouth-watering walking tour in Nara City where you'll indulge in authentic Japanese cuisine, craft beer, and traditional sake. From watching a mochi pounding performance and savoring the freshest mochi, to tasting Kaki no Ha Zushi and visiting a historic temple, this tour offers a perfect blend of history, culture, and culinary delights.
We start our tour at the most famous mochi maker in the city. If we're lucky, we'll witness a mochi pounding session and get to taste the freshest mochi just made a minute before our eyes. It's the perfect way to kick off our culinary adventure in Nara.
We will visit one of the best and traditional "Kaki no Ha Zushi" makers in Nara. This special sushi is rolled in a persimmon fruit leaf, giving it a unique flavor. We'll have the pleasure to try 2-3 sushis as an appetizer before moving on to the main stops of the tour.
We'll visit a very well-appreciated sake brewery where you will have a tasting session with 5 types of sake. You can also buy sake at the shop and take home some souvenirs.
In 2017, a traditional and modern mixed Japanese craft beer brewery was created, and we will get to taste their very smooth and refreshing beer with some snacks included. It's the perfect way to wash down the sake from the previous stop.
To end the night, we will visit a local bar/izakaya (Japanese Tapas) where all guests will get a fusion of Japanese and Western food to share, with one drink included (beer, sake, or soft drink). Located less than 2 minutes walk from JR Nara Station, you can stay as long as you want and leave safely at any time. It's the perfect way to unwind after a day full of culinary adventures.
