Yes, a valid international driving permit (IDP) or a Japanese driver’s license is required to operate the go-karts legally on public roads. Without one, you cannot participate in the tour. Make sure your IDP is based on the 1949 Geneva Convention, as other types may not be accepted in Japan.
The tour typically lasts 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on traffic and group pace. It includes a guided route around major Tokyo attractions, the go-kart rental, fuel, helmets, costumes (optional), and 360° video/photo captures to remember your experience.
You must bring your original driver’s license, passport, and valid IDP or required translation.
Yes, professional local guides lead the group throughout the journey. They ensure safety, direct the route, and share interesting stories about Tokyo’s landmarks and history while you drive.
Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes for safety. Seasonal attire is recommended—light layers in spring, and sun protection like hats or sunglasses if it’s sunny. Costumes may also be available to add fun to your ride, but they are optional.
Have done all the go karting experience with the other companies but this by far is the best in Japan. The go karts are safe, smooth and equipped with front and back view cameras. My phone could even connect with the navigation system.
