Which types of sushi will I make?

You make four kinds of sushi: two types of rolled sushi, three pieces of nigiri, and two pieces of gunkan maki, all on rice you season yourself.

Do I need any cooking experience?

No. The class is designed for beginners as well as food lovers, and the instructors guide you through each step.

What else does the class cover besides making sushi?

You start with a fun quiz on sushi etiquette and trivia, and partway through there is a short lesson on sushi history and some simple Japanese phrases.

What is the difference between the join-in and private class?

The join-in class is a group session shared with other travelers, while the private class is just for your own party.

Brilliant for families

This was a great experience and highly recommended for families. Our kids loved being able to join in with the class and Nat the tutor was really fun and friendly with excellent English. We also learnt more about the origins and how to eat sushi correctly (yeah, we've been doing it wrong). We look forward to making sushi at home!

3-5 Senju Asahicho, Adachi, Tokyo

Meet your instructor at the East Exit of Kita-Senju Station and walk together to the nearby cooking venue, where the sushi class runs until about 13:00.
