上贺茂神社

It’s a nice looking shrine. It is very peaceful inside with the water and blue sky, and not over commercialized like the Shimogamo Shrine which is not pretty much ruined by tourist crowds and resellers. Walking here from nearby subway station is about 25 minutes and it is extremely nice experience. However, the horse looks so anxious and upsetting. It’s not yet cruelty perhaps, but definitely not ideal and loving. See videos… The horse is tied both sides, very short leash. His head moves left and right, up and down, looking bored and frustrated. It is saddening. I know it’s a culture thing but is it really necessary in today’s society? 馬「持續不停左右晃、上下動」在馬行為學裡，這確實被視為：壓力或挫折的訊號，可能表示： • 活動空間受限 • 長時間固定站立 • 環境刺激不足 • 無法自由移動或社交 這些都可能讓馬出現重複擺動。 以現代動物福利標準來看，這種傳統宗教飼養方式、儀式展示優先心態，看了不是很舒服。神社是否應該取消活體神馬？又為什麼有些地方已經取消了呢？
