It’s a nice looking shrine. It is very peaceful inside with the water and blue sky, and not over commercialized like the Shimogamo Shrine which is not pretty much ruined by tourist crowds and resellers. Walking here from nearby subway station is about 25 minutes and it is extremely nice experience. However, the horse looks so anxious and upsetting. It’s not yet cruelty perhaps, but definitely not ideal and loving. See videos…
The horse is tied both sides, very short leash. His head moves left and right, up and down, looking bored and frustrated. It is saddening. I know it’s a culture thing but is it really necessary in today’s society?
