Yutoku Inari Shrine

Yutoku Inari Shrine stands as one of Japan's three major Inari shrines, located in Kashima City, Saga Prefecture. Founded in 1687, the shrine honors Inari, the Shinto deity of prosperity, agriculture, and business success. The shrine was established by the wife of the Kashima domain lord and has served as an important spiritual center for over three centuries, attracting worshippers seeking blessings for prosperity and good fortune.

The shrine's architectural centerpiece is its striking lacquered main hall built in a distinctive style that combines elements of traditional Japanese shrine construction with ornate decorative features. The shrine complex includes numerous smaller halls and gates, with the Gion-zukuri style main sanctuary standing as a designated Important Cultural Property.

The shrine is accessible from JR Hizen-Kashima Station, approximately 15 minutes by bus or taxi. Local buses departing from the station provide regular service directly to the shrine entrance. For those driving, the shrine offers parking facilities. Admission to the shrine grounds is free, though donations are customary and appreciated.
