1-Day Tour from Nagoya: Kamikochi Guided Hike in the Japanese Alps

Meet your guide inside JR Nagoya Station at the base of the silver clock tower, located just before the Taiko-Dori exit across from the Shinkansen gates. Look for a Snow Monkey Resorts tour sign. The bus departs at 08:00, so please arrive a few minutes early.

Arrive at a flower park and pastoral farm situated over 1,000 meters above sea level on the Hirugano Plateau in Gifu Prefecture. The park features fields of seasonal flowers with views of the surrounding mountains. The farm is home to horses, goats, sheep, alpacas, and other animals, and guests are welcome to feed them. Locally made ice cream, dried flowers, and other products are available to purchase.

Arrive in Kamikochi and begin the guided hike through the alpine valley toward Kappa-bashi. The trail is mostly flat and follows well-maintained wooden boardwalks for the majority of the route. The hike takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Enjoy approximately 1 hour of free time at Kappa-bashi. Local food options and souvenir shops are available in the area. Guests may also continue hiking independently further into the valley during this time.

Board the bus for the return journey. Guests ending the tour in Kamikochi say goodbye to the group at this point. Guests being dropped off at Takayama Station will arrive there at approximately 17:00. All other guests continue to Nagoya. 

Arrive back at Nagoya Station, where the tour concludes. Return times may vary due to traffic. Onward travel from Nagoya should not be booked before 20:00 to allow for possible delays.
