    Ito is a coastal city located on the eastern side of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, about 120 kilometers southwest of Tokyo. It is well-known for its hot springs, scenic coastline, and proximity to Mount Omuro.

    Ito is famous for its abundant hot springs (onsen), beautiful coastal scenery, and historical sites. The city is also a gateway to exploring the Izu Peninsula, known for its beaches, mountains, and natural beauty.

    You can reach Ito from Tokyo via the JR Tokaido Line or the JR Odoriko Limited Express, which takes around 2 hours. The city is also accessible by car, with scenic drives along the Izu Peninsula offering great coastal views.

    Main attractions in Ito include Mount Omuro, where you can hike to the top or take a chairlift for panoramic views of the area, and Izu Shaboten Zoo, which is famous for its cactus collection and animal exhibits. The Jogasaki Coast with its dramatic cliffs and suspension bridge is also a must-see.

    Mount Omuro is a dormant volcano with a unique, bowl-shaped crater. Visitors can hike or take a chairlift to the top, where they are treated to 360-degree views of the Izu Peninsula, including Mount Fuji on clear days.
