Although the building has seen a fair amount of aging and has a lingering scent of the Showa era, the view was still wonderful, and it was very interesting to see various famous spots in Kyoto. I think it's a good system that the telescope is free. The price was reasonable.

Kyoto Tower gives amazing views and is very affordable.
Kyoto is crawling with tourists (especially around the station). So, we weren't sure if we would just be getting into another tourist trap by going to the Kyoto Tower. But we loved it! The cost was very affordable (compare to similar experiences in the U.S.). I think we paid about $5.50 per adult. For that money it was a huge bargain. The elevator ride to the top gets you some amazing views of the Kyoto area. Yes, the tourist stuff was still there; they try to sell you photos and dump you out at a souvenir shop, but it really is a fun thing to do for the money.

Can overlook various famous spots in Kyoto
Although the building has seen a fair amount of aging and has a lingering scent of the Showa era, the view was still wonderful, and it was very interesting to see various famous spots in Kyoto. I think it's a good system that the telescope is free. The price was reasonable.
