Log Road Daikanyama

Log Road Daikanyama is a compact shopping and dining complex located in Tokyo's fashionable Daikanyama district. This former railway yard was transformed in 2015 into a modern commercial space designed by architect Hisae Nakamura, who incorporated salvaged railway sleepers and industrial materials into the architecture as homage to the site's railroad heritage.

The development consists of three low-rise buildings housing approximately 30 boutique shops, cafes, and restaurants. The complex maintains an open-air walkway design that preserves the linear character of the original rail corridor, creating an intimate pedestrian experience distinct from typical Tokyo shopping centers. The architectural approach emphasizes natural materials, exposed wood, and abundant greenery, reflecting Daikanyama's reputation as one of Tokyo's more relaxed and design-conscious neighborhoods.

Log Road Daikanyama is located a 3-minute walk from Daikanyama Station, which is served by the Tokyu Toyoko Line connecting central Tokyo areas including Shibuya (one stop away) and Yokohama. The station is also accessible via the Tokyu Toyoko Line's through service to the Tokyo Metro Fukutoshin Line. There is no admission fee to enter the complex, though individual shops and restaurants set their own prices.
