The Fukui Prefecture General Green Center is a comprehensive public park and recreational facility located in Sakai City, Fukui Prefecture, covering approximately 65 hectares of land. Established in 1977, the center was developed as part of a prefectural initiative to provide residents and visitors with accessible green space for leisure, education, and outdoor activities. The facility serves as both a botanical garden and a family-oriented park, playing an important role in environmental education and community recreation in the region.

The center's landscape features diverse gardens showcasing seasonal flora, including extensive rose gardens with over 3,000 rose bushes representing numerous varieties, as well as Japanese-style gardens that demonstrate traditional landscaping techniques. The facility includes greenhouses where tropical and subtropical plants are cultivated year-round, offering visitors the opportunity to observe plant species not native to Fukui's temperate climate. During spring, the park becomes particularly popular for cherry blossom viewing, while autumn brings colorful foliage displays across the grounds.

Visitors can explore the park's walking trails, relax in open lawn areas, or participate in seasonal workshops focused on gardening and nature crafts. The center features a large observation tower providing panoramic views of the surrounding countryside and, on clear days, distant mountain ranges. Children's play areas, athletic facilities, and picnic zones make the venue suitable for family outings. The on-site greenhouse complex allows for botanical observation regardless of weather conditions.

The General Green Center is accessible by car from the Hokuriku Expressway, with the nearest exit being Maruoka IC, approximately 15 minutes' drive from the park. Public transportation options include buses from Maruoka Station on the JR Hokuriku Main Line, though services may be limited and checking schedules in advance is recommended. Admission to the outdoor park areas is free, while certain special exhibitions or greenhouse sections may require a nominal fee, typically around ¥200-300 for adults.

This park has everything: observation tower, sakura, exhibition building, plenty of kids spaces, BBQ, free boat rentals, it's spacious, and even has clean water to play in. This park is amazing and hopefully will remain the way it is for a long time.
