Hakone Glass no Mori Venetian Glass Museum is a masterpiece of art and nature in the beautiful Hakone area. This museum is all about the beauty and craftsmanship of Venetian glass, a tradition that has been going on in Italy for over 1,000 years. The museum has a huge collection of glassworks, from delicate vases and goblets to elaborate chandeliers, each piece is a work of art by Venetian glassmakers.

One of the most impressive features of the museum is the outdoor garden. Here glass sculptures are integrated into the natural landscape and art and nature become one. Trees with glass leaves shine in the sun and a crystal clear canal runs through the garden, it’s like being in Venice itself.

Inside, you can see galleries with historical pieces and modern interpretations of Venetian glass art. The museum also has hands-on experiences where you can try glassblowing with skilled artisans.

A charming stop with a nice Italian feel and plenty of beautiful glass pieces to look at. The museum itself is fairly small, but it has a pleasant gift shop and a few dining options that make it easy to linger a bit. I especially enjoyed lunch at the Italian restaurant, and the live music added a really nice touch to the visit.

Beautiful crystal corridor, glass flowers in the middle of real greenery, a pond, ceramic roses, fruit jams, stamp collection pamphlet (Get it at the entrance. The stamps are elaborate and beautiful), Venetian glass museum/displays. Live Italian music in the cafe every hour on the hour. Get a table reservation about 15 minutes before that since there can be a wait. Like a fairytale. Takes an hour at most if you skip the sandblasting and live music

Went here on vacation. One of my bucket list places to see. The museum was stunning! Did not disappoint. The level of detail in some of the pieces is insane 🤯 so much beauty every where you look. Also ate at the café. 10/10 recommend! The food and drinks were so good. A little bit pricey but definitely worth it to treat yourself Beautiful cafe with nice live music 🎶 and delicious food and drink. Overall had an amazing day 😌

Nice museum. Good weather helps. It’s 50% gift shop but nice things for sale. Highlight was the Mont Blanc dessert and live music at the cafe. Wouldn’t consider this a must - do, but I have been to Chihuly museum in Seattle so lower your expectations as it doesn’t really compare! Nice way to spend an hour in Hakone.

Beautiful museum! Lovely installations in the outdoors that play with the natural sunlight, and plenty of beautiful art pieces on display indoors. I went in December so there was a big winter tree that started to shine beautifully with the natural sunlight as the sun started to set. There is a good Italian cafe, too, and at that time there was live music performance by musicians from Italy. Worth a visit for anyone into Italian art, as the whole place felt like a slice of Italy in the woods of Japan with an astonishing view of mountains and hot springs. That said, I think it's best to visit during spring or autumn time instead of December as the lack of natural flowers and greenery was apparent in some exhibition areas.
