We had a lovely stay at the Highland Furano for a couple of days while snowboarding. Amazing and kind staff, comfortable rooms and really nice onsen. They also serve breakfast and dinner, both are very good. We would absolutely return.
We visited the private onsen. Very cool. Doesn't have a view but the water is nice and hot. Service was awesome. I can not Comenta on rooms. But the private onsen was cool. Will be better if it had a view.
We visited in August. Staying here was such a great experience. The room is clean, modest, and comfortable. Each room has a private toilet, but showers are in the public bath area with onsen facilities. There are both indoor and outdoor onsens, and since they switch between men and women daily, you get to enjoy different views during your stay.
The food here is outstanding. We booked our stay with both dinner and breakfast, and everything served was fresh, seasonal, and delicious. Breakfast offers plenty of variety, while dinner felt like a real highlight—every dish was enjoyable. The hotel serves all the local specialties that the area is known for.
The property is well maintained and doesn’t feel old at all. We returned after 9 years and were still just as impressed. The staff are kind, professional, and very accommodating
Onsen experience:
Yesterday we paid by card and today we have been refused the entry because it was "cash only". The old man at the entrance probably don't know its job and the hotel doesn't like customers
It's a little dated but we loved staying here for 6 nights over winter. With a car, the location is no problem at all. The onsen was spacious and enjoyable. Lots of vending machines everywhere with a good selection. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are simple but warm and comfortable. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would come back again!
