Hirosaki Apple Park, located in Hirosaki City, Aomori Prefecture, stands as a testament to the region's status as Japan's premier apple-growing area. Aomori Prefecture produces approximately 40% of Japan's total apple harvest, and Hirosaki has long been the heart of this agricultural tradition since commercial apple cultivation began here in the 1870s. The park was established to showcase this heritage and educate visitors about the cultivation methods that have made the region famous.

The facility encompasses a working apple orchard where visitors can observe the full cycle of apple production throughout the seasons. Spring brings the delicate blossoms that blanket the orchards in white and pink, while autumn transforms the landscape with ripening fruit hanging from branches. The park cultivates over 65 varieties of apples, including popular types like Fuji, Tsugaru, and regional specialties rarely found outside Aomori. Seasonal apple picking represents the primary attraction, typically running from late August through mid-November depending on variety. Visitors can harvest their own apples directly from the trees and purchase their picks by weight. The park also features a direct sales shop offering fresh apples, apple juice, jams, pies, and other processed products made from locally grown fruit. A small museum area provides information about cultivation techniques, the history of apple farming in the region, and the economic impact of the industry on Aomori Prefecture.

Hirosaki Apple Park is located approximately 8 kilometers southeast of central Hirosaki. Visitors can reach the park by taking the Konan Bus from Hirosaki Station, with the journey taking around 30 minutes to the nearest stop, followed by a short walk. Taxis from the station take approximately 20 minutes. For those driving, free parking is available on-site. General admission to the park grounds is free, though apple picking requires payment based on the quantity of fruit picked, typically ranging from 500 to 800 yen per kilogram.
