What other travelers are saying about Hirosaki Apple Park
What a wonderful Aomori apple themed experience this is. Great views from the look out point, great store with anything apple related, great café with apple pie and apple sorbet, historical building, great picnic area surrounded by apple trees. There's also a huge sign of Mount Iwaki and an apple picture frame. Love it.
Apple picking runs from late August to mid-November, with different varieties ripening throughout this period. Apple blossoms appear in late April to early May. The museum and shop operate year-round.
Take the Konan Bus from Hirosaki Station, approximately 30 minutes to the nearest stop, then walk to the park. Taxis take 20 minutes. By car, the park is 8 kilometers southeast of central Hirosaki with free parking available.
The park grows over 65 apple varieties including Fuji, Tsugaru, and regional specialties from Aomori. Available varieties change throughout the season as different types ripen.
The park has a sales shop offering apples, juice, jams, and pies. A museum area displays information about apple cultivation history and farming techniques in Aomori Prefecture.
When you think Aomori, apples are the star, and Hirosaki Apple Park lives up to the hype. Spotted this gem online with solid reviews and decided to check it out after a short drive from our hotel. Totally worth it.

Absolutely charming. Rows of lush apple trees stretch in every direction, with crisp mountain air and views of the surrounding hills. Felt like stepping into a postcard of rural Japan.
Apple Picking (5/5)
Booked a ~30-minute picking session—perfect length. Staff gave clear, friendly instructions on how to twist and pick without damaging the fruit. The apples? Incredible. Crisp, juicy, perfectly sweet with that signature Aomori snap. Ate more than I picked!

Convenient little shop packed with apple-themed goodies—juices, jams, dried apples, and cute packaging. Picked up a few gifts; prices fair, quality high.

A joyful, hands-on taste of Aomori’s pride. Family-friendly, relaxing, and delicious. If you’re anywhere near Hirosaki, make time for this—especially in autumn. Highly recommend! 🍎
The apple harvest experience here exceeded my expectations! The observation deck offers stunning views of Mount Iwaki and the surrounding orchards. The gift shop is packed with incredible apple-themed souvenirs, and the café's apple pie and sorbet are delicious. The picnic areas nestled among the trees are perfect for relaxing. Convenient bus access makes getting here easy, and the staff is wonderfully helpful. Highly recommended during harvest season!
It’s my first time picking apples from apple trees, and I love the experience and the place! Highly recommended for anyone who comes here during the apple harvest season.
My dream to visit and pick apples~ I had a lot of fun here. It’s not crowded so we enjoyed the experience! Apple picking timings were eve try half hour and the guide will bring you to the respective areas you can pick apples. It’s chargeable by weight! The Apple type you can pick changes frequently, depending on whats ready for picking.
Lovely views too without big crowds.
Eatery had meal and snack options. Food was actually yummy! We enjoyed apple cutlet the most, it was so special. Thin apple slices inside our pork cutlet. Highly recommend to try. Apple curry was also really delicious. For snacks, we found the apple pies to be very average for a dine in place, but the soft serve was so amazing. Best apple soft serve~ must try!
Shop had a good variety of apple precuts, and also different types of apples to purchase!
