What other travelers are saying about Horomitoge Lavender Garden
It just a garden of lavender, no ticket, but it was so beautiful. I visited here on weekend and it was crowded at the field (but still manageable) but it’s so difficult to get here. There is no public transportation at all so everyone use their own car or taxi, so the traffic was crazy. I can only go 100m after 10 min drive. So almost take 1,5 hour to go to the place even it was only 1,3km from bottom roads. There’s only one toilet and also two additional portable toilets here but it was so dirty, water not running and clogged with tissue 🥴
I hope there will be more proper toilet, and behave tourist.
There’s no shop as well unless a seed shop that sell lavender seed. So it’s only for pictures and short sightseeing.
Visit from mid-July to late July for peak lavender bloom. The garden opens early July through late July annually, operating 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.
Admission is free. Parking costs ¥500. Lavender harvesting activities cost ¥500, ¥800, or ¥1,000 depending on the designated section.
Walk through pathways among 5,000 to 8,000 lavender plants, photograph the fields with city views, participate in lavender harvesting, and purchase lavender products including essential oils, floral waters, potpourri, and fresh bundles.
The garden grows three angustifolia varieties: Nana Narisawa (Hokkaido-developed), Violet Memory (retains color when dried), and Dark Purple Early Bloomer No. 3 (flowers from mid-June).
The drive up to the small farm is steep. One need to pay 500yen per vehicle to enter. Will not recommend if you are already visiting the big farms such as Farm Tomito.
Probably the best place to see lavender in Sapporo during July season without the need going to Furano.
Less international tourists coming to this garden.👍
