Ibuki no Sato Ski Resort, Niimi

Ibuki no Sato Ski Resort is located in the Chiya area of Niimi City in Okayama Prefecture, nestled within the Chugoku Mountains of western Japan. The winter sports area operates between elevations of 650 and 850 meters, offering visitors access to reliable snowfall in a region known for its semi-rural satoyama landscape where deep mountains meet traditional rural scenery.

The resort can receive over 100 centimeters of snow in a single day during winter season, with snow machines ensuring adequate coverage even during milder winters. Located on the prefectural border between Tottori and Okayama, the facility serves as a popular winter sightseeing base, combining mountain sports with the region's natural hot spring culture that has developed around the area's bicarbonate ion-rich waters.

The resort features 2.3 kilometers of ski slopes served by 3 lifts, with five courses accommodating different skill levels. Facilities include a snowboard park, kids' park for sledding and snow play, restaurants, rental services, and nursery rooms. Adjacent to the slopes, visitors can access the Niimi Chiya Onsen Ibuki no Sato hot spring facility, where guests can enjoy open-air baths with seasonal mountain views and waters known for their skin-beautifying properties.

The resort is accessible by car via the Niimi Interchange, located 30 minutes away along National Route 180. Public transportation is available through the Ibuki Liner bus service from Niimi Station. Niimi itself is easily accessible by train or car from Okayama city and the regional hub of Yonago. The facility offers day passes for skiing and snowboarding, with equipment rental available on-site. The complex also features Japan's first hot spring glamping facility with dome-type accommodations and pet-friendly rooms.
